3 Steps to Healthy Skin

When it comes to a little self-discipline many people come up bit short. The silly thing is, a little gradual change here and there to your lifestyle, and what you shove down your throat, and put on your skin can have amazing results.

The 3 steps to healthy skin are – 1. Diet, 2. Exercise and 3. Healthy skin care

1. Diet – The old saying goes “you are what you eat”. Unfortunately, many people don’t heed this advice.

If your diet is high in fats (hamburgers, french fries/chips etc), sugars (ice cream, sweets etc) or any other crappy foods… it shows!

You will likely be over your optimum weight or even obese, you will get tired more easily, your skin will look tired and lifeless. You will be more prone illness and have a higher risk of getting diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol associated problems.

A lot of people say it’s too hard or I’m too busy to change my diet and get back to my optimal weight. This weak attitude is why you got overweight in the first place.

Eating good healthy food takes the same physical effort as eating bad greasy food. It’s just your mental attitude that needs to change. Either get some help, or do it yourself by researching how to eat a balanced diet including more grains, fruit and vegetables. Also consider using a good quality range of natural supplements for extra vitamins and minerals.

2. Exercise – It’s amazing that probably the majority of people can’t be bothered doing any exercise. But, on the other hand the smaller minority become exercise fanatics. I used to be one myself, running down the street in the dark at 5.30am in the morning timing myself to make sure I went faster than last time.

Fortunately, I have seen the light and now exercise moderately each day, in particular stretching exercises because as you age your muscles and tendons degrade and lose strength, so you have to keep moving, or you’ll cease up eventually (if you don’t use it – you’ll lose it!). Don’t ever let yourself get dehydrated, try to drink plenty of fluid particularly water every day.

3. Healthy skin care – Do you look after your skin with a good natural skin care cream? All skin creams are not equal; many cosmetic and synthetic creams contain mineral oils, parabens and toxins, so choose carefully.

There are a great variety of natural skin care products, again all are not equal. Find one that has the highest concentration of active ingredients. There are new unique skin creams coming onto the market now that include ingredients that can stimulate new skin cells, that can help rejuvenate and reduce wrinkles to make your skin healthier and more youthful looking.

If you’re a man and have never used a skin care cream – you should start now. The feeling of having a well moisturized skin compared to the dry itchy one your probably used to is well worthwhile, and is one of several steps towards having a healthy skin

Finally, if you have read this article and are serious about changing you’re eating and exercise habits. If you have had or now have any illness, disease or take medications get some professional guidance or medical advice first. Whatever you do go at it slowly, and don’t make any drastic changes that could have a detrimental affect on your health.
